DJI, the Chinese drone company, has introduced a new smartphone app designed to identify a nearby unmanned aerial vehicle and location of its operator.

The application is based on protocol called “Wi-Fi Aware”, which helps drone to transmit information about itself.

The drone manufacturer emphasized that new application will help to mitigate menaces to security.

According to a statement made by policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, Ulrike Franke, such solution will be effective against hostile unmanned aerial vehicles.

At the same time, multiple experts agree that lawbreakers will be smart enough to thwart detection.
