Drone temporarily disrupted flights at Frankfurt Airport
Air traffic in Frankfurt was suspended for half an hour due to a drone sighting, in March 2019. “Our priority is safety first”, said the airport. It is the biggest and the busiest landing strip in Germany. It features two passenger terminals with a capacity of approximately 64 million passengers per year. After the police dealt with drone activity, the airport has returned to normal operations.
It has been estimated that the number of drone-related incidents is alarmingly growing. It especially concerns airports where they can be the cause of great danger to air traffic.
