Man charged for flying a drone
In June 2018, police charged man reckless endangerment for flying a drone with a video camera affixed over Nissan Stadium where CMA Music Festival activities were being held. Tens of thousands of persons were in attendance in both areas.
Police helicopter spotted the drone and monitored it until it landed at the parking lot. The reckless endangerment charge stems from operator being unable to maintain line of sight of the drone and flying it over a ticketed event with thousands of persons present.
A representative of Nissan Stadium signed a citation as a private prosecutor charging this man with criminal trespassing because of the drone’s presence.
