In the UK, Merseyside County police detained three people after a suspicious drone was spotted in close vicinity to the racetrack “Aintree”. The lawbreakers are charged with violation of the rules regarding the use of drones. The men were eventually released, but law enforcement officers confiscated a drone.

Using UAvs to get more up-to-date information from racetracks is standard practice and gives UAV operators an undeniable advantage, according to a statement made by the police. Appropriate measures should be taken to minimize the use of UAVs for such purposes.
