A new device to protect against drone swarms
A high-power microwave is planned to be used by The U.S. Army in order to eliminate drone swarms as part of its Indirect Fire Protection Capability system.
The director of Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office announced that new innovation will be exploited by the unit by 2024.
IFPC, or The Indirect Fires Protection Capability is system, which can be used with the purpose of elimination of artillery, rockets and mortars, and also cruise missiles and unmanned aircraft systems. The device is also equipped with laser capability, which serves for neutralization of potential threats.
