Taking into account that wildfire season is near, fire authorities are informing people about prohibition to operate drones in the immediate vicinity of fires. On average, approximately 500 wildfires were reported in Minnesota between April and May, in accordance with a statement made by the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center (MIFC). Authorities emphasized that using UAV in fire zones puts the life of pilots and firefighters at significant risk. The last drone-related incident in Minnesota took place in May of 2021. When UAV was operated near a wildfire, aircrafts were forced to land or move back to the airport till the moment when there is no threat in the airspace impeding the fire-fighting operation.
