Lack of experience resulted in drone’s malfunction
In the UK, a 33-year-old police officer crashed a £ 64,000 drone by touching inappropriate buttons on its control console. The unmanned aircraft was involved in a search of lost person at night. Ultimately, the UAV fell into a huge pond located in the small British town of Crawley in West Sussex.
Taking into account the fact that the operator had only 6 hours of flying practice, it doesn’t come as a surprise that such an incident took place. The policeman has been banned from using UAVs and he will be obliged to go through additional flight training and testing, on the basis of which a decision will be made whether he should be allowed to operate drones or not.
