New bill concerning drone use on Mackinac Island
Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, approved new legislative act that will permit Mackinac Island to control and ban the use of certain drones.
Wayne Schmidt, United States Senator from Michigan emphasized that drones become more and more popular and their capabilities have strengthened over the last years. Consequently, such legislative initiatives must be taken into action.
The original idea for this bill was introduced by members and advisors from Unmanned Aircraft Systems Task Force in 2017.
