The runway at the airport, located in Crawley, West Sussex, was closed for 50 minutes, after errant drone was spotted in the immediate vicinity from the airfield. A Gatwick spokesperson emphasized in a statement that “Operations at London Gatwick were halted at 1.44pm, while investigations following suspicious drone activity were underway. The airfield reopened at 2.35pm.
