The Kolkata Municipal Corporation will attack mosquitoes with the help of drones
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle to eliminate mosquito larvae which transmit the diseases such as chikungunya, malaria and dengue. The drone, called Vinash, is equipped with GPS and is able to fly over 20-story building.
Other drone’s advantages include a robotic hand designed for taking samples from the ground and water and container suitable for the storage of pesticides.
According to a statement made by Atin Ghosh, deputy mayor of KMC, the dron will photograph different remote places and buildings. In case when mosquitoes are found, unmanned aerial vehicle will simply spread insecticides on them.
