On August 10, 2021, a preliminary report was released on a drone-related incident that collided with a Cessna 172N while it was landing at Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport. The plane belonged to Canadian Flyers International. There were instructor and a student on board. The aircraft sustained significant material damage, but fortunately no one was injured. Official investigation of the incident was initiated.
