Law enforcement authorities are looking for a UAV operator who illegally operated a drone in close vicinity to the helipad when the helicopter was approaching the ground. The incident took place near Dunedin Public Hospital in New Zeland.

According to a statement made by Graham Gale, the pilot of the Otago Rescue Helicopter, the drone’s appearance might have disastrous consequences, since the drone was 7 meters from the helicopter. Taking into account the small size of the UAV, it is difficult to spot it in the airspace. Anyone with information about the incident can contact the police at isi@caa.govt.nz.
