Swedish law enforcement officials said on Saturday that suspicious drones were spotted in close proximity to the Forsmark nuclear power plant, located north of Stockholm, and Oskarshamn in southeastern part of Sweden. Who is behind the illegal use of UAVs is unknown. A security guard at the Forsmark power informed authorites on Friday about UAV flying over the restricted area. The police arrived to the scene, and the helicopter was under surveillance. “They saw a drone that moved over Forsmark for a moment, then the object disappeared into Greso (an island in the Baltic Sea). There are no signs that the drone dropped something or landed somewhere, ”the department stressed in a statement. Also, law enforcement agencies emphasized that another suspicious drone was taking photographs at the Oskarshamn power plant. The Swedish police launched an investigation into both cases. At the moment, no one is suspected.
