In November 2015, Oscar Webb’s eye was sliced in half by a propeller after the operator lost control of the drone. Before Oscar’s accident his family were unaware of the potential safety issues surrounding drones. The toddler will need several operations before he can have a prosthetic eye fitted.

After that accident, the Civil Aviation Authority has released guidelines for flying drone safely in 2016.
