The Louisiana authorities are considering the possibility of introducing amendments to the drone legislation to ensure the safety of pipelines and chemical plants from hostile drones.

The new bill will increase fines for illegal drone operation in close vicinity to petrochemical facilities and pipelines from $ 2,000 to $ 4,000. In the event of repeated offence, the operator will be forced to spend two years behind bars. Organizations supporting the amendment of laws include the Louisiana Chemical Association, the Louisiana Midland Oil and Gas Association, and the Louisiana Business and Industry Association.
