United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority issued a new document regarding the use of drones. In accordance with it, unmanned aerial vehicles will require special software in order to make them detectable aircrafts, when they are operated beyond the visual line of sight.

At the same time, drones used for commercial and delievery purposes will need crash avoidance systems with the purpose of protecting them from other aircrafts operating in the airspace.

Such security measures were implemented in response to the increasing popularity of drones which can be used for different reasons.

According to a statement made by a CAA spokesman, Jonathan Nicholson, the vast majority of drones already possess such technology. It allows them to integrate safely into the airspace.
