The German firm Rohde & Schwarz has developed a new drone detection and neutralization system called ARDRONIS due to the growing threat from unmanned aerial vehicles.

“ARDRONIS” is an automated system of detection and neutralization of radio-controlled drones. According to the manufacturer, the system will allow to warn in advance about the appearance of a drone nearby, as well as perform its precise detection and inform about the potential threat.

The system works in simple way. It identifies the feedback signal of the drone’s flight control system, then monitors the flight path of the device and effectively detects the drone already at a distance of 5-7 km in optimal weather conditions. In addition, the system is able to disrupt the radio signal of the drone, as a result of which the device stops flying and falls to the ground.
