The drone, owned by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), was in the restricted area of Bangalore International Airport, which constitutes a serious breach of the law, according to which the use of UAVs near airports is prohibited. The mistake was made by the National Center for Informatics and Disease Research (NCDIR), which is located on the ICMR premises. Airport police have applied to the local court and are awaiting permission to file a case against ICMR and NCDIR. A senior ICMR official stressed in a statement that the council has hired a specialized agency to conduct video footage on campus. However, things did not go as intended the drone left the campus and flew close to the airport.
