In June 2019, Yemen’s rebel Houthi movement has launched drones at the Saudi airport. It was a second such attack in two days. On June 13th, five drones targeted Abha airport. Officials said there were no casualties reported and the airport was running normally without and disruption to flights.

However, an attack on June 12th injured 26 people. The rebels launched a cruise missile at the facility. The officials said the attack on a civilian airport, which is about 110km (70 miles) from the border with Yemen, was a violation of international humanitarian law and that it might constitute a war crime.
