Drone operator fined and banned from flying
In September 2017 a man from Yellowknife, in Canada, was charged with one count of dangerous operation of an aircraft. He is believed to be the first person in the Northwest Territories to be charged with the unsafe operation of a drone.
Several people complained od drone being flown in the area close to the Yellowknife Airport.
The pilot plead guilty on September 2018 and received a fine of $3,000 and was prohibited from flying an aircraft for three years, which is the maximum prohibition for a first offence.
